mARTine®

Contemporary Belgian artist and gallery owner Martine Houtsaeger, known by her artistic brand name "mARTine," is a visual artist based in Roeselare, Belgium. She creates striking contemporary artworks that immediately capture attention and bring color to any interior. With a strong background in visual arts and more than thirty years of experience as a graphic designer, Martine blends graphic design expertise with a passion for modern art. This results in a collection of vibrant, colorful art pieces that explore themes such as creativity, lifestyle, and emotional connection, all with the intention of evoking a warm, positive experience in every viewer.

Her guiding motto is: "Art that brings happiness."

Her ambition is to create art tailored to each client: personal, one-of-a-kind pieces that perfectly complement an interior, a story, or a feeling, transforming every space into a unique, uplifting, and inspiring environment.

Custom Made Art

'At mARTine, modern paintings, ceramics and unique handcrafted objects come together in a curated collection of custom made art. Each piece is created with a story in mind and often tailor-made in collaboration with local artists, resulting in original artworks that are both personal and contemporary'. Custom made art can take many inspiring forms, such as:

- Decoration and Interior Design

Designing bespoke artworks and objects that reflect the style, atmosphere and colours of a space, so that every room feels visually balanced, harmonious and connected to the overall interior design.

- Personal stories

Creating art based on personal stories, memories or meaningful themes, so that every work becomes a tangible reflection of what truly matters and a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art.

- Specific techniques or materials

Working with specific techniques or materials on request—such as ceramics, mixed media, abstract painting or sculptural forms—giving each artwork an even more distinctive, personal and recognizable character.

- Paintings and Sculptures

Designing custom-made paintings, sculptures or other art forms for private interiors, companies or public spaces, always with a unique concept, clear visual impact and a strong connection to the surroundings.

- Collaboration with the Artist

A close and creative collaboration between artist and client, in which ideas, sketches and visions are shared and refined until the artwork feels completely right and truly custom made.

This approach to art creates a strong emotional connection and ensures that every piece genuinely mirrors the identity, style and personality of the client, resulting in meaningful, custom made art that lasts.

Gallery mARTine presents a regularly changing program of exhibitions featuring both emerging and established artists. It is an inspiring place to discover local talent, which is why the exhibitions can differ greatly from one another.
